The San Francisco 49ers have been beset with injuries all season but one man who has remained consistent for the most part is Brock Purdy. Despite battling through injuries, Purdy has been available for most of the 49ers' games this season and kept the offense afloat despite missing some big names like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk.
With one Super Bowl appearance under his belt, it appears it's time for the Niners to pay Purdy. Given Dak Prescott's stratospheric deal that made him the NFL's highest-paid player, the going rate for a starting quarterback has gone up significantly. Considering Purdy is next in line, he is set to land a major payday.
However, former NFL head coach Ron Rivera, who racked up 102 wins over the years with the Panthers and the Commanders, isn't of the opinion that the Niners should break the bank for Purdy. On the Dan Patrick Show this week, Rivera said:
