The Boston Bruins couldn't get the job done against the visiting Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday (November 26) night at TD Garden, falling by a 2-0 score and losing their first game under new head coach Joe Sacco.
Sacco had previously been undefeated since taking over the role of head coach following the termination of Jim Montgomery; the Bruins defeated the Utah Hockey Club 1-0 and the Detroit Red Wings 2-1.
Sacco didn't like the fact that his players couldn't bury the multiple chances they had, especially since they outshot the Canucks by a wide margin and yet still came up empty.
“We just have to start burying our chances,” said Sacco. “I think that we’re giving ourselves a chance to compete in games now. Guys are defending hard, but offensively we have to get some guys going to find their scoring touch.”
