Patrick Mahomes' ankle injury has been front and center all week with the Kansas City Chiefs in the middle of a grueling period where they play three games in 11 days. Mahomes has been vocal about his complaints over the tight schedule and picked up an injury during the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns.
He was later diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, putting his availability for Saturday's showdown against the Houston Texans in question. Three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth has been unhappy with how Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has gone about his business.
On FS1's "Breakfast Ball" show this week, the former Denver Broncos guard made his feelings clear on what he termed as 'hubris' on Reid's part.
"This is going to be his most important coaching job of the season to this point," Schlereth said. "I'm telling you right now, Andy Reid has an aversion to running the football. He does not like it, and it's a problem.
