Manchester United frontman Rasmus Hojlund has slammed a fan online for questioning former coach Erik ten Hag's decision to sign the Danish youngster. The Red Devils signed the 21-year-old centre-forward from Atalanta BC in 2023 for a reported transfer price of a whopping €73.90 million.
So far, Hojlund has racked up 23 goals and three assists in 64 appearances across competitions for United. However, the Dane has been underwhelming this season, registering just seven goals and a solitary assist in 21 games. Furthermore, he hasn't been impressive in the Premier League, scoring just two goals in 13 appearances this season.
The string of disappointing performances has resulted in Hojlund drawing criticism from United fans on social media. It reached its boiling point on Friday, December 27, when a post claimed that the youngster was only brought to the club due to his connection with Erik ten Hag. Written by Instagram user @utdfamee, the post claimed that Ten Hag "needs to be trialed in court" and imprisoned for bringing Hojlund to the club.
