On Sunday, Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets suffered a gut-wrenching 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins, falling to 3-10 to get knocked out of playoff contention. It extended the franchise's long wait for a postseason berth to 14 years, the longest active playoff drought in North American sports.

The 2024 roster could have ended that streak had they won a few of the six one-score games they lost this season. However, Rodgers feels a 50-50 ball never drops in the Jets' favor because the franchise might be hexed.

During his media availability on Wednesday, the veteran quarterback spoke about how desperate everyone in the franchise is to end its long wait for a playoff appearance. He said:

“It might be some sort of curse we’ve got to snap as well. Whatever the case, this team, this organization is going to figure out how to get over the hump at some point.”
