The driver accused of fatally striking NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew in a hit-and-run crash while intoxicated has been indicted on 4 different charges.
On December 11, 2024, a grand jury indicted 43-year-old Sean Higgins on second-degree reckless vehicular homicide, first-degree aggravated manslaughter, fourth-degree tampering with physical evidence, and second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
The fatal crash occurred on August 29, 2024, in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew were cycling northbound on County Route 551 when Higgins, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, attempted to illegally pass two vehicles by entering the southbound lane.
