Spanish giants Barcelona are looking to sign a midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window, according to recent reports. Many fans and pundits had initially claimed that the Catalan giants would focus solely on registrations and renewals in January because of their financial troubles.
However, the tables may turn very soon as President Joan Laporta is on the verge of signing a deal with a Qatari fund, thereby causing an influx of more than €100 million for the club to spend on strengthening the side. The economic lever reportedly deals with the sale of tickets for the VIP boxes in the renovated Camp Nou. The deal would also help the side return to the 1:1 rule as per the Financial Fair Play regulations of LaLiga.
