Paul Bissonnette throws Mitch Marner trade out the window - Image Source: Getty
Paul Bissonnette was quick to shut down the idea of trading Mitch Marner after his NHL on TNT co-panelist Anson Carter proposed a swap between the Toronto Maple Leafs star and the Colorado Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen. Carter floated the potential trade during the first intermission of the Vegas Golden Knights-Avs game on Wednesday.
Carter suggested that with Nathan MacKinnon's big contract in Colorado, the team may have issues fitting in a new deal for Rantanen, who is in the final year of his 6-year, $55,500,000 contract.
His logic was that Toronto could theoretically pay Rantanen more than the Avs could, while Colorado would get an excellent player in Mitch Marner who wouldn't demand more than MacKinnon.
However, Biz simply said:
"I would say no trade. I believe in Marner.”
