Brisbane Roar will play host to Central Coast Mariners at Suncorp Stadium in the A-League Men on Friday. Both teams have struggled to get their campaigns off the ground in the new season, with little sign of improvement for the hosts, especially.
Brisbane Roar have been unable to cure their hangover from last season. They are yet to record a win this term after nine rounds of matches, and will enter this game on the back of two straight defeats. The hosts are missing the services of two key injured defenders - Ben Warland and Corey Brown. However, this alone can’t explain their dismal form.
The Roar sit bottom of the standings with two points, following seven defeats and two draws. They have scored 11 goals and conceded 22 times, now posting a negative goal differential of -11. Brisbane Roar will be out to claim their first home win of the season but there is no guarantee in it considering their weak form.
