Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears had another dismal outing on Sunday, as they suffered a 38-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium and fell to 4-9. While their performance on offense or defense wasn't much to write home about, wide receiver Keenan Allen had reason to celebrate.
The veteran became the 42nd player in NFL history to complete 11,000 receiving yards and is one of only six active players. The others are Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans, Travis Kelce and Davante Adams. Allen needed only 950 receptions to reach that mark, the fewest in NFL history.
Williams, who has thrown 47 passes to Allen for 471 yards and five touchdowns, was ecstatic about his teammate etching his name in the history books. The rookie quarterback shared a post congratulating Allen for his achievement on Instagram stories and captioned it:
