Charlie Woods and his high school golf team wins postseason’s opening outing

Charlie Woods and his Benjamin School boys’ golf team won the opener of the 2024 FHSAA postseason. On Tuesday, October 29, his high school team posted a two-shot victory over West Palm Beach’s Oxbridge Academy at the District 13-1A championship at the Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart.

Charlie Woods carded a 1-over 73 to finish sixth individually, while his teammate Pavel Tsar finished seventh with a 3-over 75. However, the team and championship’s best scorer was Tsar's younger brother, Andrew, who carded a 3-under 69 to win the individual title.

Oxbridge Academy’s Joey Iaciofano carded a 2-under 70, while Ajax Lanasa shot a 1-under 71 to finish second and third, respectively, in the individual district standings.

Following the event, both Benjamin and Oxbridge Academy qualified for the Region 4-1A championships, set to take place on Monday, November 4, at Miami Shores Golf Club.
