There is no denying that Craig Kimbrel is one of the best closers in MLB history. The 36-year-old ranks among the all-time leaders in total MLB saves with a remarkable 440 and has earned nine All-Star selections in his career. That said, 2024 was a year to forget for Kimbrel, who struggled to find consistency with the Baltimore Orioles.
Last season, Kimbrel posted a disappointing 7-5 record with a 5.33 ERA, 23 saves and 73 strikeouts over 52 1/3 innings. Although he struggled for much of 2024, he was solid for the Philadelphia Phillies the previous year, earning yet another All-Star selection.
