F1 photographer and insider Kym Illman claimed that Daniel Ricciardo could return to the sport as he believed the fellow Aussie's time in the sport has not ended just yet. The eight-time race winner was let go by the Visa Cash App RB F1 team after the Singapore Grand Prix last weekend having returned to the team in Hungary in 2023.

The Austrailian driver had set a target for himself to return to the main team, Red Bull, in 2025 and race alongside Max Verstappen, but was unable to do so with the Austrian team retaining the services of Sergio Perez for the remainder of the 2024 season.

With his exit from the RB, many in the paddock including drivers have assumed that it might have all over in F1 for Daniel Ricciardo. Still, while appearing on the Australian news channel Network 10's chat segment, The Project, Illman claimed there could be a 'twist' regarding the 35-year-old's future in F1 and said:
