The Denver Nuggets ended a three-game road swing with a rout of the Atlanta Hawks 141-111 on Sunday. Nikola Jokic had another dazzling display, leading his team to a big win. The reigning MVP finished with 48 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and three steals.
Russell Westbrook, starting in place of the injured Jamal Murray, had nine points, 11 assists, two steals and one block. Nuggets coach Mike Malone called him the Defensive Player of the Game.
Without Jalen Johnson and Bogdan Bogdanovic, the Hawks trailed 71-48 at halftime. They played better in the second half, but the Nuggets had already built enough cushion to cruise to the win.
Trae Young, limited to three points in the first three quarters, poured 12 points in the fourth quarter. He also had 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals. Larry Nance Jr., getting the start over the injured Johnson, contributed 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
