Although it is not yet official, Bill Belichick is almost certain to become the head coach at the University of North Carolina. Many were surprised to learn that even if the eight-time Super Bowl winner returned to coaching, he would not do it with an NFL franchise.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints were touted as possible landing spots, but according to Belichick, none of the teams reached out whereas UNC did.
In a press conference on Wednesday, New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye made his feelings clear about the team's former coach possibly moving to a college team.
"Legendary coach, with the success he had here. And what a great place Chapel Hill is. Any time you have a legendary NFL coach going back to college, it's pretty cool. I think coach Belichick would love Chapel Hill," Drake Maye told reporters.
