Dutch driver shares his view on Max Verstappen possibly taking a sabbatical from F1 | Getty
Dutch F1 racing driver Jeroen Bleekemolen thinks there is a possibility of Max Verstappen taking a sabbatical next season if Red Bull is not competitive. The 3-time world champion's future has been a topic of conversation this season, especially with the Austrian team struggling to keep up with the competition in the second half of the season.
The season started impressively for both Verstappen and Red Bull. The team and the driver built up a significant early season lead with dominant wins and pole positions. In fact, Verstappen's run of pole positions this season only ended in Monaco.
The upgrades in Miami that McLaren brought, however, proved to be the turning point for it and for Red Bull. With 6 races left in the season, Max Verstappen is 52 points ahead of Lando Norris but desperately trying to fend off his title rival in a car that's not fighting for wins anymore.
