The father-son duo played the same sport (baseball) briefly before Patrick Mahomes Jr. decided to switch to football for good. That decision didn’t come until 2015 when Mahomes Jr. was in his sophomore year.
Mahomes Jr. was interested in baseball since his father played in MLB. When Patrick Mahomes Sr. was interviewed in Jan. 2019 by Fort Worth Star Telegram, he revealed how everyone reacted when Mahomes Jr. arrived on the field as a 5-year-old.
