Bill Belichick is set to become the new University of North Carolina coach after almost a year without a coaching job. Belichick spent 24 years as the New England Patriots helmsman before Robert Kraft parted with him at the end of the 2023 NFL season, which led to rumors and speculation about his future.
After failing to land the Atlanta Falcons coaching role, he signed deals to have a more significant presence in the media. That changed this week as UNC agreed to his terms. However, before that, Belichick could have made a shocking decision and returned to one of his old teams.
Diana Russini of The Athletic reported on Saturday that Belichick was interested in the New York Jets a couple of weeks ago.
