After leading the New York Mets to the 2024 NLCS, Francisco Lindor was happy to learn Sean Manaea re-signing with the club on a three-year, $75 million deal. The deal was announced on Friday, pending a physical.
Manaea becomes the fifth free agent signed by the Mets this offseason. Previously, the Mets made a big splash by signing outfielder Juan Soto to a 15-year, $765 million deal, followed by the signings of Frankie Montas ($34 million, two years), Clay Holmes ($38 million, three years) and Griffin Canning ($4.25 million, one year). By the looks of it, they are almost about to bring back first baseman Pete Alonso as well.
Amid the spending spree, no one is seemingly more happy than shortstop and NL MVP finalist Francisco Lindor, who dropped a one-word reaction on Instagram to Manaea's return.
