He emphasized that Norris would need to significantly improve his performance to have a chance at winning the World Championship against Max Verstappen this season.

The team has demonstrated significant improvements in their overall competitiveness, while reigning champions Red Bull have faced challenges with underperformance.
This has allowed Lando Norris to challenge Max Verstappen for the World Championship. The Singapore Grand Prix showcased the impressive pace of his McLaren as he established a comfortable 30-second lead over his nearest competitor in second place. Although he was leading the race with a comfortable pace, Norris made multiple mistakes. He outbraked himself multiple times, causing his wheels to lock up. He also chipped the wall at one point in time. However, he still managed to win the race.
