Hull City will host Middlesbrough at the MKM Stadium on New Year's Day in another round of the 2024-25 EFL Championship campaign. The hosts will hope to pick up where they left off in their last fixture and perhaps turn their season in 2025.
Hull’s impressive narrow 1-0 win over Blackburn during the weekend marked only their fifth win of the league season. The hosts, who currently sit in 21st place, have had a decent start to life under newly appointed manager Ruben Selles with two wins and a draw in five matches and will hope to continue such form against Michael Carrick's side.
Middlesbrough will be keen to return to winning ways after dropping points with three consecutive outings. The single point earned in Sunday's goalless showing against Burnley was enough to move the visitors up to sixth place and they will be hoping to at least maintain their place in the promotion playoff spots in their opening match of the year.
