Infielder Gleyber Torres signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Detroit Tigers on Friday and has since revealed that he didn't receive any offer from the New York Yankees.
The 28-year-old entered free agency this winter after spending seven years in New York and helping them to the World Series last year. In an introductory press conference with the Tigers, Torres was asked whether the Yankees had pursued him aggressively in free agency. He responded:
"No, not really. We did not have many conversations, just my agent, and their group passed information back and forth a few times, but I didn't really have any offer from them.
