Fernando Alonso clarified his goals for racing with Aston Martin in the future, stating that he is focused on winning the third F1 World Championship. He won two consecutive titles in 2005 and 2006 and has been fighting for the third since.
The 43-year-old is the most experienced driver on the current F1 grid. He debuted in the 2001 season and retired after 2017. He then returned with Alpine in 2021 and signed with Aston Martin for the 2023 season. His stint last season was successful, finishing fourth in the championship. This gave hope for a championship battle in the coming seasons, but the team's performance has been mediocre so far in the season compared to last year.
