David Beckham once included Argentine maestro Lionel Messi and three other players in his roster of the four greatest footballers of the generation. The 49-year-old Englishman was one of the best midfielders to play the game in his prime, representing European giants like Real Madrid, Manchester United, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and LA Galaxy.
After he retired from professional football, Beckham focused on the business aspect of the game and became the co-owner of the MLS side Inter Miami along with Jorge Mas and Jose Mas. The Fort Lauderdale-based club did the unthinkable in 2023 when they signed La Pulga on a Bosman move from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
During a 2023 visit to Mexico City, the Englishman was asked to name the four greatest players of all time. The former midfield superstar's choices spanned generations, picking Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele, and Diego Maradona.
