The PGA Tour is currently in talks with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) over a potential deal. Despite the first formal announcement being made on June 6, 2023, further updates on the deal’s final form are yet to be revealed. Now, PGA Tour-bound Korn Ferry Tour star Harry Higgs has come out to criticize the negotiations.
Commenting on the current state of the PGA-PIF deal, Higgs said it was “certainly complicated” and added that it “cannot be this complicated.” The 32-year-old golfer noted that almost all players like him are still kept in the dark about the negotiations. He took a sly jibe at the PGA Tour by stating that the body has formed ‘subcommittees’ while keeping the remaining players away from the formal talks.
The World No. 161 golfer, who has 120 starts on the PGA Tour, noted that the holdup in the deal might be caused by the lawsuit filed against the Tour by LIV players.
