Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was left fuming after he failed to get out of the Q2 and the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix qualifying session on Sunday. The Dutch driver seemed to have everything under control during the session as he looked relatively comfortable in the wet conditions at the iconic Interlagos track.
The reigning three-time world champion was running in P12 on his Intermediate tires before the Aston Martin of Lance Stroll crashed in the final few minutes of the Q2 session. The FIA Race Director waited for over 30 seconds to deploy the red flag which stopped the session.
Max Verstappen, unfortunately, was caught out by the red flag and was unable to complete his fast lap, eventually finishing the session in P12. In his post-qualifying interview with Sky Sports, the 27-year-old expressed his frustration and said:
