The Boston Red Sox made the headlines on the final day of the MLB Winter Meetings as the AL East team struck a trade with the Chicago White Sox for All-Star ace Garret Crochet on Wednesday.
The White Sox received prospects from Boston as part of the deal for their ace. One of the top 25 prospects in the MLB pipeline, Kyle Teel, Braden Montgomery, Chase Meidroth and Wikelman Gonzalez went to the White Sox.
Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who had a breakthrough season with Boston in 2024, made his feelings known on Garret Crochet's signing. Duran shared a picture in his Instagram story featuring himself with Crochet and Tanner Houck from the 2024 All-Star game. Duran captioned the story with a 'Smiling Face With Horns' emoji.
