Barcelona president Joan Laporta has decided to sell 22-year-old Ansu Fati, as per the latest reports. The La Masia graduate was once one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, with clubs like Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain offering around €100 million to sign him. However, incessant injury concerns and underwhelming performances have made the higher-ups at La Blaugrana lose faith in him.
Ansu Fati made his debut for the senior team as a 16-year-old in August 2019. In his first season for the Catalan giants, he played 33 games, registering eight goals and a solitary assist. While the start was promising, things started going downhill after he suffered a meniscus tear in November 2020, which sidelined him for 305 days.
In 2023, the Spaniard was sent on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he scored just four goals and one assist in 27 appearances for them. After returning to Barcelona, Fati has made just seven appearances across competitions this season, registering no goal contributions.
