Kyle Shanahan sent a clear message to those trying to push the narrative that Brock Purdy struggles in bad weather. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has played four games in the rain or snow, boasting a 52.2 completion percentage and a passer rating of 66.3, fumbling twice. During his last outing against the LA Rams, Purdy struggled under the rain, posting a quarterback rating of 45.4.
Talking with NBC Sports, Shanahan said that Purdy has never made him feel nervous under the rain and added that Matthew Stafford wasn't convincing either last week.
“I think Brock does a solid job. I think it’s hard for everyone. That last game that we played on Thursday night, that (rain) was a lot worse than we anticipated. I thought both him and Stafford both had some moments where they struggled. But overall you try and watch a guy in the rain and how much he’s struggling and you can see when it’s real bad and it’s 'alright I can’t do this stuff', but Brock never really makes me feel that way.
