LA Lakers two-way guard Quincy Olivari scored his first NBA basket during Sunday's 107-98 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Afterward, Olivari's childhood idol, Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry, requested his game-worn shoes, with the rookie happily obliging.
Olivari, an undrafted guard out of Xavier, went viral during the preseason for his unexpectedly strong play and later inked a two-way contract with LA. Over the course of the Lakers' exhibition schedule, he had the opportunity to meet Curry, and the two have maintained a relationship ever since.
On Friday, Olivari became the second active NBA player to sign a shoe endorsement deal with Curry's Under Armour sportswear line, Curry Brand. The signing came amid his standout production with the NBA G League's South Bay Lakers.
