Dani Olmo's situation at Barcelona has become one of the major developments as we enter the January transfer window. While there is confusion as to whether he can play for the club or not, LaLiga appears to have denied any extension for a potential registration.
Barca signed Olmo from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024. However, their dire financial issues meant that they couldn't register him. It was only after Andreas Christensen's injury that the Spanish giants registered Olmo as a replacement. However, that registration period ended on December 31, 2024.
The Blaugrana issued a statement on Tuesday, which read:
"FC Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new license for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Víctor to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Club would like to deny having requested or receiving any moratorium to any governing body for these inscriptions."
