Lil Wayne has opened up about being passed over for the Super Bowl halftime show in less than two months. This time, his rival, Kendrick Lamar will headline the event in New Orleans, which is ironically, Lil Wayne's hometown.
The rapper candidly spoke on "The Skip Bayless Show" about Lamar’s deserved spotlight. However, at the same time, he also hinted at the sting of being passed over.
“Generally, I believe that, for whatever reason… [it was] over my head… I believe [it was] perfect,” Wayne remarked. [0:46]
He added:
“But personally… I straight look at it like, ‘you ain’t there. You ain’t there, and you gotta get there.’”
