Max Fried was recently unveiled as the newest big-money signing by the New York Yankees in a press conference at the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon. The lefty All-Star completed his transfer to New York City after agreeing to an eight-year, $218 million deal with the Bombers—the biggest contract handed out to a left-handed pitcher and fourth all-time for all pitchers in MLB history.
At the conclusion of the unveiling and presser, Fried joined the MLB Tonight program on the MLB Network hosted by Greg Amsinger. When asked by the latter what the historic pinstripes and logo of the Yankees meant to him, the two-time All-Star expressed his excitement about the opportunity.
"They're one of the most storied franchises in this game and in sports. To be able to put on the pinstripes made me excited. - Fried said via MLB Network (0:15-0:27)
