Red Bull driver Max Verstappen took a dig at McLaren CEO Zak Brown as they embraced after the driver's championship win. Verstappen reminded the latter of a comment he had made earlier in the season about the former. The Dutchman became only the sixth driver in F1 history to win four world championships after he finished P5 at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Heading into the race, Verstappen needed to finish ahead of his title rival at McLaren driver Lando Norris to take his fourth consecutive world championship with the Austrian team. He did so comfortably as the British driver finished in P6 but managed to take the fastest lap on the last lap of the race.
While appearing on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Brown had made some eye-catching remarks regarding Max Verstappen's abilities earlier in the year. He had said (via Crash.net),
