Carlos Sainz appeared to have refused Ferrari's team orders during the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The Spaniard was asked not to "overtake" his teammate, Charles Leclerc, which he did not pay heed to. Reacting to the move, Leclerc hit out at Sainz with a linguistic jibe.

The Las Vegas Strip Circuit is hosting the 22nd race of the 2024 F1 season, and the third and final race in the United States of the calendar. In the race, Max Verstappen is vying for his fourth consecutive F1 title, whereas Ferrari is fighting against McLaren for the Constructors' Championship.

The team had a field day on Saturday where they qualified in P2 and P4. With the cushion they had over McLaren, the Scarlet Ferrari drivers wanted to close the gap in the championship. However, their intra-team rivalry came to the forefront once again.
