MLB analyst claims Alex Bregman's stats at Red Sox ballpark comparable to legend David Ortiz
Two-time World Series champion third baseman Alex Bregman is a sought-after free agent this offseason. Bregman could grab a deal north of $200 million this offseason, or at least this is what he and his agent Scott Boras would like.
One potential destination emerging out of the woods is the Boston Red Sox. Being a great pull hitter, Bregman would enjoy batting there, especially with the 7-foot-2-inch-high (11.33 m) left field Green Monster wall at Fenway Park.
On Wednesday's episode of "The Mayor's Office with Sean Casey," analyst Rich Ciancimino pulled up stats of Bregman and Red Sox legend David "Big Papi" Ortiz at Fenway, and they were very similar.
"I got the numbers. You ready? Slash line in Fenway for Bregman. You ready? You ready for this? .375/.490/.750," Ciancimino said (10:00 onwards). "Exactly. That’s Big Papi. Big Papi was David Ortiz in Minnesota, and he would have been great anyway. I think he would have put up very similar numbers. But Big Papi at Fenway—that's like, it’s the same sentence.
