For the second year running, the Toronto Blue Jays pursued the biggest free agents in the market, Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto, but lost out without being close to signing any of them. Now, their two biggest stars, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette, are both entering the last year of their contracts.
Speaking on the popular podcast Baseball Today, host Chris Rose urged the Toronto front office to start the process of rebuilding the team:
"If you give Vladimir Guerrero Jr. $360 million, then where are where are you allocating funds? This is a team that has spent and also reportedly tried to get the biggest fish in the free agent pond... but that ain't happening."
