During the third period of Wednesday's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Detroit Red Wings, Flyers coach John Tortorella erupted in frustration after a confusing no-call by the officials.
The situation escalated when a referee briefly raised his hand as if signaling a penalty but then quickly lowered it. Misunderstanding the situation, a Flyer player jumped onto the ice as the Flyers pulled their goalie, believing there was a delayed penalty.
John Tortorella lost his composure as the referees conferred and ultimately decided not to call a penalty on the initial play.

As a result, the Flyers had too many players on the ice for an extended period, eventually drawing a penalty for interaction. The Flyers lost the game 6-4.
