Fernando Alonso experienced a turbulent Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday where he struggled with the pace, balance, and comfort throughout the race. Despite the discomfort, Alonso assured his team that he was going to finish the race at Interlagos, which he did when he came home in P14.
Sunday's Brazilian GP was one of the most chaotic races on the 2024 F1 calendar. Apart from multiple red flags, yellow flags, and cars running out, as many as five drivers retired from the race. Despite his struggles, Alonso was not one of them.
The Spanish driver qualified for Q3 earlier on Sunday. However, a crash in the session saw him fail to improve on his position. Notably, his teammate Lance Stroll also suffered another crash during qualifying. In the end, Alonso managed to start in P9.
