The Philadelphia Flyers have a few young players to build around, notably Matvei Michkov. The Flyers are young and have a 9-10-3 record this season, so 2024 may not be the year to contend. This makes it an excellent year to move assets and recuperate draft picks or younger, cheaper players. One NHL analyst has a couple of players to keep an eye on this year.
Rasmus Ristolainen who is on a five-year, $25.5 million deal is a prime trade candidate for the Flyers, according to TSN analyst Darren Dreger.
"They know what they are and they know what they're doing," Dreger said via TSN. "The Philadelphia Flyers are still in the building process, of building a long term foundation. Daniel Briere is one of the more active GMs, and he's taken a lot of calls. There's a ton of interest, as we know, in veteran defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen."
