The Pittsburgh Penguins are off to a rough start this season. After narrowly missing the playoffs last year, they're currently 6-9-3 and in sixth place in their division through 18 games. It's far from over for Pittsburgh, but they may want to consider looking to the future. At least, one hockey insider believes general manager Kyle Dubas should consider making sweeping changes to the roster.
On Thursday's episode of "The Chris Johnston Show," Johnston and journalist Julian McKenzie discussed rumors of a potential fire sale.
"The Penguins are looking into the situation with clear eyes," Johnston said. "I think that Kyle Dubas isn't kidding himself here about where his team sits. ... They've been getting their butts kicked. ... I'll point you to what we saw last yeaar from this team when they were 10 points out of the playoffs with a couple weeks before the deadline, they went out and traded Jake Guentzel."
