In his early days in F1, Lewis Hamilton boasted about how he was invited by American rapper, P Diddy, for a special dinner. This took place in 2007, Hamilton's debut year in F1. Diddy is currently in jail awaiting hearing on the charges laid against him.

At the time, the young British driver was not nearly as famous as he is today. He started his career with McLaren in 2007 and was gradually getting into the world of glamour and fame as a rookie. In the early 2000s, F1 was becoming quite popular among other pop cultures as a thrilling sport. Hamilton caught this wave the moment he entered the sport and quickly made several connections with celebrities from different fields.
