New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Javon Baker didn't play in the Week 15 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on the road. Earlier in the week, the former fourth-round draft pick out of UCF was placed on the injured list with a concussion.
This news was a shock as the New England Patriots were coming off a bye week and when and where he suffered a concussion was unknown.
On Wednesday afternoon, Doug Kyed, who covers the New England Patriots for the Boston Herald, reported that Javon Baker told him that he had a very serious car accident. It was this that caused the concussion.
Baker told Kyed how it could have been much worse and that he was 'blessed' it was just a concussion.
