Real Madrid have reportedly been handed a boost as they are expecting David Alaba to return to action soon following his long-term injury. The 32-year-old centre-back suffered a cruciate ligament tear in December last year and has been out of action since.

David Alaba sustained the injury in Real Madrid's LaLiga clash against Villarreal on December 17, 2023. The Austrian was named on the bench in Los Blancos' UEFA Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund in June. However, he remained an unused substitute and is yet to feature in a match. He has missed 59 fixtures for the Spanish club so far.

Real Madrid have struggled with injuries this season, specially in the defense line. They also have defenders Daniel Carvajal and Éder Militão out for the season due to their ACL injuries.
