Aston Martin has announced a major reshuffle as former Red Bull man Dan Fallows will be stepping down from his role as a technical director. Fallows has been a part of the team for a while and was credited with the surge in performance that the car had in early 2023. Since then, however, the team has struggled with developing the car to its potential.
Aston Martin had started the 2023 F1 season on a strong note, but as the season progressed, it became clear that whatever upgrades the team brought to the car were not working. On the contrary, they made the car worse.
That trend has continued into the 2024 F1 season. While Fernando Alonso had been able to wring a few strong results out of the car early on, as the season progressed, good results have dried out. Aston Martin is now a distant 5th in the championship standings. While the team owner Lawrence Stroll has been going all out in terms of providing the best possible facilities for the team to prosper, the lack of on-track results has been damning.
