Former World Series champion with the Atlanta Braves in 2021, infielder Ehire Adrianza announced his retirement on Tuesday. Adrianza is retiring after a 12-year career in the big leagues with five different ballclubs: the Giants, Twins, Braves, Nationals and the Angels.
The 35-year old Venezuelan made his big league debut with the Giants in 2013. His last season was with the LA Angels in 2024, playing just eight games with a .192 batting average, one home runs, two RBIs and .596 OPS.
After being placed on the IL due to back spasms, Ehire Adrianza was subsequently released from the roster on June 15. In his retirement post on Instagram, Adrianza wrote:
"Today, I address all of you with a profound sense of gratitude and emotion as I announce my retirement from professional baseball. This journey has been incredibly challenging, filled with ups and downs, but every step along the way has been a blessing that I cherish immensely.... Today, I close this chapter of my life, but the memories, friendships, and love for baseball will remain with me forever."
