One of the longest-standing traditions in the NFL is quarterbacks turning Santa Claus for their offensive linemen and giving them Christmas presents. Those on their rookie deals usually give their teammates modest gifts, while those with the richest deals in the league treat their linemen to something lavish.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who'll earn less than $1 million in salary this year, had every reason to not spend extravagantly on Christmas gifts for his O-line. However, he leveraged his sponsorship deal with Toyota and got them brand-new cars as presents.
The 49ers posted the video of Purdy surprising his teammates with their Christmas gifts on their social media accounts on Thursday. He gave them the choice to pick between a Toyota Tundra TRD Pro truck and a Toyota Sequoia SUV depending on what they preferred.
