Sergio Perez partied with Carlos Slim Domit, a $85,300,000,000-worth Mexican businessman, and other friends after securing P17 in the 2024 F1 Mexican GP. Clips and pictures of the party surfaced on social media after the race ended.

At the qualifying session of the Mexican GP, all the grandstands were shocked to see their home hero, Checo, get knocked out of Q1 and only secure P18 for Sunday's Grand Prix. Along with him, another shocking elimination was that of Oscar Piastri, who got knocked out and started the race from P17.

In the main race, Perez was hit with a five-second time penalty for not parking his car correctly in the grid box before the start. Though Checo managed to climb up the grid in the early stages, he had an intense moment with RB driver Liam Lawson on Lap 18. The Red Bull driver tried to overtake, but Lawson closed the door and defended his P10 position aggressively.
