Ajax visit the Sparta Stadion on Sunday to face Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie, looking to remain on the coattails of leaders PSV Eindhoven. With 11 wins and three draws, De Godenzonen are currently in second position in the top-flight standings after accumulating 36 points.
They appeared to lose some more ground in the race with a draw and a defeat of late, but recovered to beat Almere last weekend.
Wout Weghorst, Kenneth Taylor, and Kian Fitz-Jim all netted apiece as the Amsterdam outfit returned to winning ways. With PSV losing their game on the same day, the former also trimmed the gap on them to six points.
Francesco Farioli's side followed it up with another victory a few days later, this time a 2-0 win over Telstar in the second round of the KNVB Cup. The back-to-back wins should give them some momentum going into Sunday's clash.
