Having secured Juan Soto on a long-term deal, the New York Mets need to focus on the rest of their roster to put out a competitive team next season. There have been rumors about signing Alex Bregman or Pete Alonso, with sportscaster Evan Roberts urging them to sign both players.
On the Rico Brogna podcast, Roberts said that while it's unlikely for Steve Cohen's team to sign both Bregman and Alonso, getting them would take their lineup to the next level:
"I find it really hard to believe that they're gonna throw in another long commitment to Alex Bregman and potentially Pete Alonso ... but if you're gonna keep open to the idea that you can Bregman and Pete too, force of a different color.
